Chart Your Course
If you think about what your life will look like five years from now, what do you see?
If the picture is a little fuzzy, perhaps it’s because you’re not quite sure what you want.
I just follow my routine…I wake up and got to work, I come home, eat dinner, go to bed and do it all over again the next day. Does that sound at all familiar?
It’s easy to drift through life with no particular destination in mind.
But the problem with drifting is that before long, you may realize you’re not headed anywhere specific. And unless your life’s mission is to be an explorer, it’s time to pull out the map and choose a destination.
After all, you can’t chart a course if you don’t know where you are going. With a sea of possibilities in front of you, how can you ever begin to choose a direction or destination?
To get a clearer picture on your desired destination, ask yourself just a few pertinent questions:
• What is truly important to me?
• What do I want to experience?
• How do I want to spend my free time?
• I five years when I look back on my life, what would I regret not having done?
Often, we only discover what we want after we have already “set sail.”
Life is a process of setting out to discover what we want, adjusting our course, and trusting that we will find our true destination.
So, go head, and pick a harbor. After that, the only thing left to do is hoist your sail.
“Transformation is a process, and as life happens there are tons of ups and downs. It’s a journey of discovery – there are moments on mountaintops and moments in deep valleys of despair.” ~ Rick Warren
